On May 27, 2026, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro welcomed researcher Jacinta Pinho for a seminar open to veterinary medicine students as part of the Edu4OneHealth project (2022.04568.PTDC). Some of the topics covered included the impacts of antimicrobial resistance on communities, the factors contributing to the emergence of resistant bacteria, and how the “One Health” approach is necessary for the effective mitigation of this growing problem. The importance of educational interventions to promote the prudent use of antibiotics was highlighted, reinforcing the role of veterinarians as public health agents. We thank everyone involved in this initiative and Professor Ana Cláudia Coelho for hosting us.
