V 1H-TOXRUN & Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society – International Joint Meeting on ONE HEALTH, Porto, April 24, 2026

On April 24, 2026, in Porto, Professor Paula Oliveira of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro was a guest speaker at an event organized by CESPU, UCIBIO, and the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society, focusing on the “One Health” approach. Results from the Edu4OneHealth project (2022.04568.PTDC) were presented in the communication titled “Multifaceted intervention to improve antibiotic use in Portugal: a ‘One Health’ approach — preliminary results.” Participants showed interest in the topic and acknowledged its relevance, noting that this type of study should also be applied to other classes of drugs used in veterinary medicine. During this session, several representatives from health associations participated in the round table, including the president of the Portuguese Veterinary Medical Association, who expressed a keen interest in the topic.
